Bays Holiday Park Anna Bay – Port Stephens area

A great destination, close to the beach and all that there is to do around Port Stephens and a 20-minute drive back to Newcastle Airport.

Being a holiday park, it is family friendly and offers a range of accommodation types, from your own camping site (powered or unpowered), onsite caravans, cabins, cottages or a house.

Kevalier Park – Berry area

How about your own private resort on 2-acres with an indoor pool? This is a luxury house with 6 bedrooms (sleeping 16 people) You could share with a group or book it all for yourself, and dog as well; as they are dog friendly.

Dogs must strictly be kept outside of the house, and that means being excluded from bedrooms and on furniture. There is a suitable dog sleeping area at the back of the laundry. The property is fully fenced which is great for letting your dog have a good run; but make sure you bag and dispose of all dog waste.

Pet friendly accommodation Berry NSW you say? Well this place is a 2-acre luxury estate that you could enjoy without any other guests. Places of this quality are rare and if sharing the cost with friends or family you could get a whole new holiday experience.

Banksia Park Cottages – Kookaburra (Kangaroo Valley area)

Due to the 2020 bush fires Banksia Cottage will reopen in December 2020. It’s places like this that really need out support to get going again.

The cottages are set up in a farm stay setting. 1 dog per cabin is ok by prior arrangement and they are allowed inside. You will need to make sure that is still ok prior to making your booking.

Looking for holiday cottages South Coast dog friendly, great views, wildlife, need we say more? A fabulous spot for a break.

Dog Friendly Accommodation With A Pool

Northern Rivers & North Coast

Blue Green Sanctuary – Newrybar (Byron Bay area)

This is an amazing property close to the beaches of Byron Bay, The Farm, Harvest Café and the Gaia retreat.

Blue Green Sanctuary has 3 different accommodation options; Blue Green Villa, Blue Green House and Blur Green Loft, all of which have private pools. That sure does fit the brief of dog friendly accommodation with pool. A stunning property.

You need prior arrangement to take your dog. You are responsible for cleaning up after your dog; inside and outside. The dog is not permitted on furniture or in bedrooms and extra cleaning costs will be charged if there are signs this has been ignored. The dog must also be kept out of the lake.

R & R – private home in Corlette (Port Stephens area)

We found this lovely air-conditioned 4-bedroom home (sleeping up to 8 guests) with a pool on an online booking site.

It is dog friendly; 2 dogs are permitted and must be kept outside.

Discuss your dog requirements prior to making a booking.

Not everyone wants to stay in a resort, so the brief of dog friendly accommodation with pool where you stay in a home-away-from-home could be just what you are after.

Ovolo Hotel – Woolloomooloo

This funky boutique hotel with indoor pool is set in the wharf area of Woolloomooloo and is very close to the Royal Botanic Gardens. The hotel describes their look as ‘heritage meets modern luxury’ and that sure shows looking at the different accommodation offers on their website.

Not only is the hotel dog friendly but on their Offers Page you will find that they have a special ‘V.I.Pooch Holiday Accommodation Package’ for your dog as well as for you a ‘Holiday Accommodation Package’. There are too many inclusions to list here, but they are definitely 5-star if you want to check out the offers link: https://ovolohotels.com/ovolo/woolloomooloo/offers/

Dog friendly accommodation with pool was the brief. I don’t think we were prepared for the style, luxury and lovely indoor pool that this property offers; yet so close to the Harbour, Gardens and CBD.

Illawarra & Shoalhaven

Holiday acreage home – near Wollongong

We found this luxury home on one of the large online boking sites. The home is set on 11 acres, has a great pool, 7-bedrooms sleeping 12 guests and it is dog friendly. This would be magnificent for a large family or to share the cost with family or friends.

Up to 4 dogs may be permitted, subject to prior approval before you book. There will be a surcharge for each dog. Approved dogs are allowed inside but not on furniture. You will need to discuss the full dog policy as there may be additional conditions.

The link has a comprehensive gallery of photo’s around the home and surrounds as well as a bookings page.

Dog friendly accommodation with pool was what we were looking for here and this place is more mansion than house, and the pool is classically styled with amazing views across the property and beyond.

South Coast

Dybara Park Cottages – Barragga Bay (NSW South Coast area)

This property is a collection of small cottages and it does have a pool. However, you are also close to 2 beaches only 1 block away; Barragga Bay in one direction and Armands Beach which is ‘clothing optional’ in the other direction.

The property is dog friendly but due to native wildlife your dog must be on a lead at all times and you are required to pick up and dispose of your dog’s droppings. Prior approval for your dog needs to be given by the manager before booking as there is a long list of additional conditions.

As holiday cottages South Coast dog friendly and close to the beach then this property is the Southern-most property we have included. It’s a beautiful part of the word for sure.

Summary

Sourcing this unique list of pet friendly accommodation NSW has taken quite some time. However, as our opening dialogue said we wanted to produce a resource for our readers that may help them to holiday at home after all the events of the first half of 2020.

When talking about or searching for dog-friendly accommodation NSW has a lot to offer.

We wanted our list of accommodation to reflect that dog-friendly holiday ideas mean so many different things. Those differences extend to budgets, location, accommodation size and style, things to do, memories, beach, bush or city to name a few.

No matter what a holiday means to you out of those parameters and what we have produced at the natural pet shop, the important thing is to support our local businesses and that includes the accommodation houses, booking sites, shops, restaurants and cafes, tour companies, etc.

Let’s spend out dollars at home this year so that we can support others going through tough times, and so that we can build new memories; one’s that include having our dog along for the holiday.
