Woods Reserve – Namadgi National Park
Despite the adjoining Namadgi National Park, Woods Reserve does permit dogs provided they are on a leash.
The campground is on the banks of Gibraltor Creek and is close to Gibraltor Falls and the Corin Forest Recreational Facility.
The campground does have flushing toilets, hot showers, BBQ’s as well as water from the creek for hand washing and washing up facilities.

Khancoban Lakeside Caravan Park
What a stunning location with so much to do whether it be Winter or Summer activities.
Definitely a place to visit and stay if you are inspired by nature and activities that incorporate it.
Perhaps you are looking for places to stop on one of the dog friendly road trips Australia offers as part of a unique holiday experience.

This park is a short 10-minute drive to the CBD. Among their accommodation options are powered and unpowered sites.
The park includes a playground, BBQ, kitchen, laundry, free WIFI and amenities block.
Small well-behaved dogs are OK but must be on a leash when outdoors.

Discovery Park – Jindabyne
This park includes powered and unpowered sites for campers and caravans.
Dogs are permitted in this section only; there are seasonality restrictions.
You are so close to all the activities at this park no matter the time of year.

There isn’t really much choice in the ACT and Snowy Mountains regions when it comes to dog-friendly resorts.
However, here are a couple of properties that are that bit different.
Mercure Canberra – Braddon
Located in Braddon, within a 5-minute walk to Canberra central in one direction and the Australian War Memorial in the other direction.
The Mercure has 2 only dog friendly rooms and these rooms must be booked directly with the hotel on the number provided.
They do have conditions that they will go through with you prior to booking.
This is a heritage listed hotel of a high standard that has 2 dining areas, WIFI access, paid parking and a gym among its list of features.

We struggled unsuccessfully when it came to finding a dog friendly resort in the Snowy Mountains and that relates to it being in a National Park.
However, in nearby towns you can book luxury accommodation such as this stunning cottage built from granite; surrounded by amazing scenery and things to see and do.
This place is natures version of a resort for sure.
They are dog friendly, but they have other farm animals and cats and your animal must fit in with that situation.

This 2-bedroom, cedar self-contained house is situated on an 86-acre property, making it an ideal place to get away from it all and have a great holiday.
It sits at an altitude of 1,280M, around 400M higher than Lake Jindabyne; which is a 15-minute drive away.
The National Park entry gates are a 20-minute drive.

Elm Cottage – Tumut
One of the briefs we received from readers was to find them “holiday cottages ACT & Snowy Mountains dog friendly”.
Although this property is called Elm Cottage, you actually have the choice of 5 cottages, each one uniquely themed.
Dogs are permitted inside at any of the cottages.
What’s more but there is no surcharge and they even provide dog bowls, treats and bags for you to pick up and dispose of your dog’s droppings. There is a $100 cleaning fee per stay.
Not all of the cottages can access WIFI; if that is important check before you make your booking.
There are plenty of other natural sights and activities to keep you occupied especially as you are visiting the Kosciuszko National Park, or perhaps gone into town.

It is only 10-minutes to Jindabyne and 5-minutes to the Ski-tube that takes you to Perisher and Mt Blue Cow.
There is a wide choice of Cabins, Studios, Chalets and Cottage as well as private pet enclosures for your dog when you go out, as they cannot be left inside the accommodation.

Eagles Range – Jindabyne
Some of our readers are wanting to find dog friendly accommodation with pool.
However, we found that it was almost impossible to find anywhere in the Snowy Mountains region that was both dog friendly and had a pool.
We had to compromise and we thing this lovely 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom cedar homestead on 120-acres with an outdoor hot tub is a great compromise.
